The Journey
Growing up, the power of words and the joy or reading always fascinated me. A great metaphor or a lively simile is always thrilling. The pages of a book give me a place to explore life, thoughts, and feelings. The idea of crafting stories has always been a part of my life, and there is always something epic and dramatic going on inside my head. However, the journey from getting the idea out of my head and onto the paper is far from easy. I’ve faced self-doubt and the ever-present fear of allowing someone to read my work. But, there has also been encouragement and support as well.
I’ve poured my heart into every word, scene, and chapter learning all along the way. Eventually, my persistence paid off, and I wrote a complete book. However, that first manuscript is on my computer–somewhere–because another story wanted to be written. I began that new story, and it became something I wanted to publish. I shared my new manuscript with relatives, friends, and critique partners, and now, my dream of becoming an author is coming true. I’ve found a publisher who tells me she is “obsessed with my book.” What a way to make an author smile. Now my hope is to connect with readers in a positive way. My own story is still being written while I find a way to connect with others and leave a lasting impact on the world. I am on an amazing journey.
